Sub:- Retention of leased accommodation at previous place of posting to Railway officers on their transfer to N.F. Railway.

(ii) Board’s letter No. E(G) 2008 QR1-9 pt dated 18.07.2024 & 29.07.24.
Reference is invited to Board’s letter dated 21.09.2022 vide which Railway officers, on their transfer and posting to Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), were permitted to retain leased accommodation at the place of their previous posting upto 30.06.2024 subject to fulfillment of certain terms and conditions as mentioned therein in the letter. This was in line with the similar relaxation extended for retention of Railway accommodation in NFR vide Board’s letter No. E(G) 2008 QR1-9 pt dated 14.10.2021.
2. Recently, vide Board’s letters under reference (ii), on consideration of a request received from Northeast Frontier Railway and in exercise of the powers vested in it to make reasonable relaxation in public interest for a class/group of employees, in all or any of the provisions regarding house allotment/retention, the Full Board have decided that Railway officers/staff on transfer to NF Railway be permitted to retain their Railway accommodation at previous place of posting or a further period of one year beyond 30.06.2024 i.e. up to 30.06.2025 on the same terms and conditions as mentioned in Board’s letter No. E(G) 2008 QR1-9 pt dated 14.10.2021.
3. On the same line, it has further been decided by the competent authority to extend the facility of retention of ‘leased accommodation’ at previous place of posting to officers on transfer to NF Railway up to 30.06.2025 on the same terms and conditions as mentioned in Board’s letter of even number dated 21.09.2022.
4. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
