Sub: Clarification regarding travel on School Card Passes (SCP) in AC-EMU Suburban Trains.
Ref : Board’s letter No. E(W)2018/PS5-2/6 dated 06.09.2022.
National Federation of Indian Railwaymen have drawn Board’s attention to the fact that wards of Railway employees holding First Class ‘A’/First Class School Card Passes (SCP) are not being permitted to travel in AC/EMU suburban trains on Western Railway and requested to issue clarification in this regard.
2. The matter has been examined. In this context, it is observed that a clarification regarding entitlement to travel in AC-EMU by First Class ‘A’/First Class Residential Card Pass (RCP) holders already stands issued vide Board’s letter cited under reference. Since, entitlement on SCP is also at par with entitlement on RCP, it is clarified that First Class ‘A’/First Class School Card Passes are also valid for travel in AC-EMU Suburban trains.
3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
